Actos – Defective Drugs

Actos is a medication prescribed to those with type 2 diabetes. However, an FDA warning has been released saying that people who take actos for over a year are 40% more likely to develop bladder cancer than those who have never been exposed to actos. Taking actos can also cause or worsen congestive heart failure. These symptoms include:

  • large weight gain
  • shortness of breath
  • swelling of arms, hands, feet, ankles, and legs
  • swelling or pain in the stomach
  • frequent dry cough or wheezing
  • trouble thinking clearly
  • increased tiredness

Actos has been suspended in France and Germany and health regulators have advised doctors to stop prescribing the drug. Studies on actos are currently being done in California.

If you have relied on Actos to treat your type 2 diabetes, you may file a claim against Takeda Pharmaceuticals and receive the compensation you deserve. Our Boca Raton product liability attorneys can help.
